What is BT Fusion?

What is BT Fusion?

BT Fusion is a versatile tariff that is bolted on to our inclusive minutes plan - BT Talk Time, so it not only saves you and your business money by providing inclusive minutes but also UNLIMITED calls to UK mobiles and UK landlines made from the office (within range of the BT Business Hub) or from a BT Openzone Hotspot.

Outside of the office or Wi-Fi Hotspots it works like a normal mobile, using the inclusive minutes included on the tariff. So, in addition to unlimited calls to UK landlines and mobiles, you'll also get:

  • SPECIAL OFFER - £100 credit on your bill on all 24 month contracts - offer ends 30th June 2008.

  • Shared, inclusive minutes - Anytime, any network. Minutes you don't use roll over into the following month

  • Unlimited SMS to any UK mobile for only £3.50 per month - At no extra cost for the first three months.

  • Unlimited voicemail retrieval - you can access your mobile voicemail wherever, whenever from your mobile

  • Unlimited calls to any BT Mobiles

  • Unlimited calls to 10 of your BT office numbers.

  • Use your shared minutes for calls to USA, Canada & Eire

  • A choice of inclusive handsets - Choose from the latest Wi-Fi handsets

  • 3MB data allowance per month

So, how does it work?

When you're in the office or within a BT Openzone or The Cloud Hotspot, your handset automatically senses when it's in range of your BT Fusion Hub or in a hotspot and routes calls down your BT Business Broadband1 connection via the BT Fusion Hub when you're in the office (you will need BT Business Broadband to use Fusion) or via Wi-Fi when you are in a BT Openzone or The Cloud Hotspot.

It can do this even when you're mid-call, without interruption - The result? You get unlimited calls to UK mobiles and UK landlines and you will get excellent voice quality, particularly useful if your office is in areas with poor mobile signal coverage.

If you move out of range of the BT Fusion Hub or out of range of a BT Openzone or The Cloud Hotspot, the handset transfers automatically back to the mobile network, so your Fusion handset acts as an ordinary mobile.

It's as simple as that.

What is a BT Openzone/The Cloud Hotspot?

A Hotspot is an access point in a public location such as a cafe, hotel or station where you can connect to the internet at broadband speed using a BT Fusion Wi-Fi handset, wireless-enabled laptop or personal digital assistant (PDA).

Hotspots use Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) that connects your equipment to the location's internet connection. It's that simple!

BT Openzone Hotspots are identifiable by the distinctive BT Openzone sign.
The Cloud Hotspots are identifiable on the hotspot directory link below by the blue dot Hotspot directory spot

You'll find them in a wide range of locations: airport lounges and terminals, bars and pubs, BT payphones, cafes/coffee shops, clubs, colleges, conference centres and exhibition venues, health clubs, hotels, law courts, libraries, museums, motorway service stations, railway stations, restaurants, shopping areas/stores, town halls, universities and even some British Airways lounges worldwide!
