Advanced Broadband Service

Advanced Broadband is specifically designed for small and medium sized businesses which need to send out large amounts of data, such as publishers, architects, advertisers and designers. It differs from ADSL (asymmetric), in that it is symmetrical allowing businesses to fully exploit the potential of the Internet by sending data at the same speed as it’s received.
Using Advanced Broadband as an enabler, businesses can:

  • Send as well as receive large digital files quickly and efficiently saving time and effort.
  • Deliver business growth and effectiveness by offering new services to customers, employees and suppliers such as online ordering, client/customer management and electronic payments.
  • Drive business efficiencies by extending internal networks and email systems to encompass remote offices, mobile workers and home based personnel.
  • Protect critical business data using remote data storage, virus protection and backup applications.

The key features of the access service are:

  • Always-on, symmetric internet connection (delivered via radio)
  • Upload and download speeds of up to 2Mbps
  • Contended at 10:1
  • Engineer install of radio equipment

Additional features and options may be provided by the chosen participating Service Provider.
